Odion Ighalo has become a success story that has been an inspirational to football fans around the world, most especially people in Nigeria.

The 30-year-old made a dream move to his beloved club Man United on a six-month loan from Shanghai Shenhua.

Ighalo claimed he took a pay-cut to join the Old Trafford outfit as he became the first Nigerian to feature for the Red Devils.

The former Watford striker made his debut for United against Chelsea in their 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

But Legit.ng in this article, goes back to Ighalo's roots in Ajegunle, an area described as a ghetto in the suburbs of Lagos state, where the Nigerian star grew up.

The house he grew up in can not be represented with his luxurious mansion in Lekki, the area where the high and mighty in Nigeria live.

Ighalo's transformation from where he grew up to where he currently resides is something that can encourage one that hard work pays.

The house in Ajegunle in the popular bungalow usually built in the 80's with a zinc type of roof-sheet.

Unlike the state of art mansion in Lekki, which has an in-built football pitch, gym, swimming pool and rooms that can compete with with ones seen in a five-star hotel.

The ex-Granada star worked his way up the ladder into the English second division with Watford, helping them gain promotion into the Premier League.

His success story did not stop there, his first season in the English topflight league saw him score 14 goals but could not replicate the same form in the following campaign before moving to China.

But his consistent goal scoring form in the Chinese Super League got the attention of Man United and he did not hesitate to accept the offer to become a Red Devil for the next six-months.
