- Milan vs Juventus Coppa Italia clash ended in a stalemate between the two sides

- Ronaldo rescued a last-minute goal through the spot for the visitors after Ante Rebic opened scoring for the hosts in the 61st minute

Both sides faceoff for the remainder of the fixture early next month to decide which of them progresses to the final

Cristiano Ronaldo continues his impressive goals scoring form for Juventus after netting a goal that helped them avoid defeat to AC Milan in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semifinal first leg tie.

The 35-year-old powered home a last-minute penalty to give his side a lifeline ahead of the second leg of the cup competition at the San Siro on weekend's eve.

This, however, means that the Portuguese international has scored in the last eight matches he has played for the Old Lady in 2020.

Meanwhile, his goal tally across competitions for the league champions stands at 24 in 29 appearances so far this campaign.

Having played a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes of the encounter, Croatian football star Ante Rebic broke the deadlock for his side a minute after the hour mark.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup finalist jabbed-in an anticipated cross from Samu Castillejo from the right flank despite being shadowed by two Juve defenders in the 18-yard box.

He benefited from the cross after Mattia De Sciglio's attempt to head the ball out failed after which the ball went past Gianluigi Buffon's goal line.

However, despite conceding in the last 30 minutes of the meeting at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, the visitors never backed down - looking for a way back into the game.

After so much toiling and foiled attacking efforts, Ronaldo finally won his side a penalty after trying an overhead kick from close range.

The Portuguese attempt was then blocked by Davide Calabria's hand before the defender tried clearing the ball out of danger.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo joined Italian League giants Juventus from Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 on a four-year deal valued around €117 million.

His arrival after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia saw the fortunes of the Serie A side skyrocket, first with their followers on social media, followed by the revenue generated just that summer.

He is practically the most profitable player in the history of the Old lady in less than 24 months in Turin.
