Antonio Conte: Italian manager paid £26.6m after Chelsea sacking

Antonio Conte was reportedly paid a huge legal cost of over £26 million by Chelsea after he was shown the exit door following his two years with the Blues.

The Italian boss was given an embarrassing marching order out of Stamford Bridge two years after succeeding Jose Mourinho, with Mauricio Sarri brought in as quick replacement from Napoli.

Conte showed lots of promises in his debut season, raising the bar high by winning the Premier League title. His romance with the Blues was, however, truncated after clashing with top members of club squad.

Making the matter worse, he could not replicate his managerial prowess as Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions League in his second season.

The club finished the following season fifth on the Premier League log, thus leading to a growing call for his sacking from home fans.

Even, a resounding victory against Manchester United in the FA Cup could not save the Italian manager as he was later sacked amid controversies with 12 months left on his contract
