John Terry in big trouble with authority over plans to renovate Surrey mansion

John Terry, Aston Villa assistant manager, seems to be having a tough time with local parish council over his plans to build a gym in his mansion.

The 39-year-old was appointed Villa deputy boss in October - few days after announcing his retirement from football at the Stadium.

Before hanging his boots, the former central defender helped the club gain promotion to the Premier League in his one year reign as the captain of the Villans.

Terry's mansion is located near Chelsea training ground in Cobham despite working for Midlands-based outfit.

Meanwhile, The Mirror reports that the ex-Blues captain sought permission to renovate his house and build a single-storey extension.

However, members of the Ockham Parish Council have sent an objection letter to former England international, over the renovation proposal.

Reports reveal that councillor Imogen Jamieson has reached out to Guildford Council on behalf of the parish lamenting that the construction would be a "significant uplift" which "constitutes inappropriate development within the green belt."

Meanwhile, Terry's planning insisted that the renovation will not be a "disproportionate addition" to the home, and cites security as the major reasoning behind the makeover.

Back in 2017, no fewer than four men were convicted for stealing £400,000 worth on goods while the defender was on skiing holiday with his family.

It was recalled that the burglars were informed that the house was empty after the former defender shared images on social media of his short break.

Terry's hopes hang on the decision of the council but the good news is that the proposals have not received any objection from neighbours.
