Manchester United confirm agreement with Everton over Lukaku

- United have made bold statement that they have agreed terms with Everton's Romelu Lukaku

- The deal is worth £75million but reports say it could rise to about £90million

- The Red Devils also hinted that more details of the contract will be provided soon

Manchester United have officially released a statement that they have agreed terms of £75million demanded by Everton for Romelu Lukaku.

Using their official Twitter handle, the Red Devils stated that the deal is almost completed and that the player is expected to complete his medicals.

"#MUFC is delighted to announce a fee has been agreed with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku, subject to a medical and personal terms."

A second tweet added: "A further announcement will be made in due course."

Manchester United look to have pipped Chelsea to landing the striker who the Blues wanted to use as replacement for embattled Diego Costa. understands that the 24-year-old Lukaku is also in desperate move to joining his former boss Jose Mourinho at the Old Trafford.

Lukaku is a sublime finisher whose strength is in his left foot. He netted 26 goals in 39 matches for Everton in the 2016/2017 season.

He was named in the 2016/2017 English Premier League team of the season. The Belgian international is expected to serve as a replacement for Wayne Rooney who is expected to leave United.

The deal for Lukaku could also rise to about £90,000million.

Meanwhile, Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has reportedly requested to join rivals Manchester City amidst speculations over his move away from the North London club.

The Chilean has been heavily linked with a move to top European clubs like Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City.
