Fire Security Chiefs Now, SEMACO Boss Tells Tinubu Amid Rising Insecurity
The Founder of SFC and Chief Executive of SEMACO, Christian Shola, has called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately dismiss Nigeria’s security chiefs, citing worsening insecurity across the country.
Shola, in a strongly worded advisory, said the current security architecture has failed to deliver results as banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and communal violence continue to spread across several regions.

“Fire the security chiefs. Nigerians need urgent results,” he said, urging the President to adopt a new strategy inspired by the engagement model of Enoch Adeboye, which he described as people-driven and intelligence-focused.
He also recommended deeper international collaboration, deployment of advanced foreign security equipment, and decisive action against sponsors of violence.
Nigeria has grappled with insecurity for over a decade, with insurgency in the North-East led by extremist groups, widespread banditry in the North-West, and farmer-herder clashes in the North-Central. Kidnapping for ransom has also become prevalent across southern states, while separatist tensions persist in the South-East.
Despite increased defence spending and multiple military operations, critics argue that coordination gaps, weak intelligence, and political interference have hindered progress.
Shola further urged the First Lady, Remi Tinubu, to visit grieving communities to console victims, noting that many Nigerians feel abandoned and traumatised.
He, however, defended President Tinubu’s leadership, attributing the crisis partly to political dynamics and power struggles between regions. “This is deeper than it appears. There are political undercurrents,” he said, calling for unity among Nigerians to confront what he termed “real enemies of the state.”
