Manchester City is through to the semifinals of the Champions League after an emphatic 2-1 comeback win against German giants Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, April 14.

Pep Guardola’s men were made to work hard as they were subjected to a mild scare after Dortmund briefly tilted the tie in their favour after snatching the lead on the night.
City went into the game holding a 2-1 lead which was snatched away when Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham curled in an effort early on.
The goal meant Dortmund would advance on away goals and City threw everything forward, with Kevin De Bruyne hitting the post in the first half.

Mahrez also had an effort brilliantly kept off the line by Bellingham.
City eventually made the breakthrough in the second half when Emre Can was penalized for handling the ball in the box, with Mahrez firing in the resulting penalty to swing the tie back in City’s favor.
The result was made certain by Phil Foden, who netted for the second tie in the fixture In the 75th minute.
It finished 2-1, as Manchester City qualified for the semifinals of the competition for the first time under Guardiola, who won it twice as Barcelona boss in 2009 and 2011.
For Borussia Dortmund, an exit from the competition likely means they will not feature in Europe’s elite for another two seasons as they are currently fifth in the Bundesliga table, seven points off Eintracht Frankfurt in fourth place.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Spanish giants Real Madrid will face English Premier League club Chelsea in this season's Champions League semi-finals.
Real eliminated Liverpool in the quarter-finals stage to book a date with the Blues in the last four.
The La Liga giants secured their place after stunning Liverpool 3-1 on aggregate in the two-legged affair.
The two sides settled for a barren draw in the second leg meeting played at Anfield, with the Reds failing to overturn Madrid's 3-1 goal advantage from the reverse tie staged at Angelo Di Stefano Stadium earlier last week.
