Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba who is now with Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) leaders Kwara United has expressed happiness over Ahmed Musa's return to Kano Pillars.

Kano Pillars' management made the announcement on Tuesday night, April 13, with the Sai Masugida chiefs confirming that Ahmed Musa will be unveiled by Kano state Governor Ganduje.

Ahmed Musa decided to make a return to the Nigerian topflight after his failure to get a deal with European clubs during the last transfer window which recently closed.

Before leaving Nigeria for Europe in 2011, Ahmed Musa recorded his name in the history books of the Nigerian topflight as he scored 18 goals in a season for Kano Pillars.

Kwara United will be hosting Kano Pillars at the Ilorin stadium on July 4 in which Aiyenugba will be facing his former teammate in the Super Eagles Ahmed Musa.

Speaking exclusively with Legit.ng on Ahmed Musa's return to the Nigerian League, Dele Aiyenugba explained that the latest development will help the NPFL.

''It was a good decision and I want to welcome Ahmed Musa back to the Nigerian League as I am sure that he will definitely enjoy his stay at Kano Pillars because he is not new their.
''We were teammates for years in the Super Eagles and very close and all I can say about Ahmed Musa is that he is a gentle and humble person who always want peace.
''I can't wait for me to face him in the League when my team Kwara United tackle Kano Pillars. It will be interesting.''

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa hinted that he would definitely return home to play for a club to help raise standards of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

In an exclusive chat with Legit.ng during his time at Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia, Musa who has shown a lot of patriotism for Nigeria also urged current and ex-national team stars to endeavour to, at least, play for a season in Nigeria.

Musa left Riyadh based club Al-Nassr in 2020 with two years remaining of the four-year contract he signed when he joined from Leicester City.
