Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has revealed two zones that should produce President Muhammadu Buhari's successor in 2023.

The PDP chieftain in a tweet sighted by Legit.ng on Tuesday, March 2, all other geopolitical zones in Nigeria have produced the nation's president or head of state except the middlebelt and the southeast.

Fani-Kayode said the two zones have a strong claim in producing the person who will succeed President Buhai in the next general elections.

He tweeted:

"Every single one of the six geo-political zones in Nigeria has produced a Head of State with FULL executive powers.
"However the MB & SE are the only two zones that have NEVER produced an ELECTED President with full executive powers."

The PDP leader, therefore, submitted that both zones have a strong claim in the presidency in 2023.

Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state might be warming up to become the president of Nigeria in 2023 if the posters spotted recently are anything to go by.

The posters and billboards announcing his presidential ambition have flooded Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa states.

The posters and billboards in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa state, are allegedly sponsored by the Niger Delta GYB Support Group.

In other news, the southeast leaders across political parties have begged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition PDP to cede the ticket to the zone in the spirit of justice and national harmony.

The Igbo leaders said on Tuesday, January 5, any party that does not zone its 2023 presidential ticket to the southeast would not get the region’s votes.
