Senator Okorocha narrates how hoodlums allegedly tried to assassinate his son-in-law

A former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has alleged that there was an attempt to assassinate his son-in-law, Uzor Anwuka.
Okorocha who now represents Imo West at the Senate, made the allegation when he visited Uzor in the hospital, The Punch reported.

He said:
"It is really sad; this is an assassination attempt, but I thank God he is alive. We have concluded arrangements with the hospital to move him out because they are suggesting that he may need some transplant, to cut some part, but we are hoping it will get better.''
The senator said he and his in-law were attacked in Imo state by masked hoodlums.
Okorocha noted that though he was spared in the attack, the people that were with him were injured with machetes.

According to him:
“It was a horrible experience; the guys were sent to kill, because at a time, the hoodlums masked their faces and (we) could no longer know who is a policeman or a thug. Luckily, I spoke Hausa language to one of the policemen, who asked me to go and that nobody would touch me."
The Nation reported that the injured son-in-law disclosed that he would be flown abroad for treatment after three failed surgeries.
He said he was shot on the left leg by the hoodlums who attacked him when he accompanied Okorocha to unseal one of his properties seized by the State Government.
Meanwhile, the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma, has said he is not behind the recent arrest and detention of Senator Rochas Okorocha.
Uzodinma said the recent arrest of the former governor was connected to investigations that were commenced by the past administration of Emeka Ihedioha.
The governor made the statement on Tuesday, February 23, when he addressed the press during his visit to President Buhari.
