Yoruba cultural activist, Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho on Monday, January 25 declared that he will soon visit all the southwest states to issue quit notices to Fulani herdsmen.

Igboho who has been in the news recently for his order to the herdsmen in his native Oyo state to leave, says it will be extended to other southwest states.

Sunday Igboho warned Fulani herdsmen to keep off the southwest zone saying, enough is enough on the killing of Yoruba people.

The Nigerian Tribune reports that the activist made the statement while featuring on a radio show in Osun state, adding that the southwest zone is now a no-go area for armed herdsmen to perpetrate evil any longer.

His words:

“I will soon visit Osun, Ekiti, Ogun, Lagos and Ondo, and Kwara. Anywhere the herders are in Yoruba land will be visited to give quit notice.
“We shall no longer live like a slave on our land. Many of our people who are abroad can’t come home because their security is not guaranteed.
“I am not scared of anybody. I am fighting for the peace of my zone and enough is enough on the killing of Yoruba people by Fulani herdsmen on our territories.”

Sunday Igboho, however, called on all Yorubas to be united in waging war against insecurity and other nefarious activities in the zone.

Meanwhile, barely 24 hours after some Fulani leaders apologised to the people of Oyo over some crimes by some herders, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Jiji, has called for the arrest of Igboho.

Kiruwa also warned herders to desist from taking their cows to people’s farms for grazing, adding that the frequent farmers/herders clash must be brought to an end.
