Atlanta was overflowing with gratitude on Sunday, November 22, when Perry and his team took to the streets to give out food boxes and gift cards to help those in need. This pandemic has hit home hard for many and Perry feels it is his duty to help where he can.
Tyler Perry Studios was able to give 5000 needy families canned vegetables and $25 gift cards. While it did not solve every family’s struggles, it certainly made a huge impact on those who they were able to help.
With Thanksgiving approaching, Perry was glad that he could have given these families something to be thankful for. He announced:
“We are excited to announce the #TPSGiving Food Giveaway event on Sunday, November 22nd from 8:00am to 12:00pm. During this drive-up event we will be distributing non-perishable food items and gift cards to people who are in need during this holiday season. See you there!”

He started on pensioners' Wednesdays with 44 Kroger stores in Atlanta and then branched out to 29 other locations in his hometown of New Orleans – what a phenomenal act of kindness.
