Chinese Super League side Wuhan Zall FC have on Sunday afternoon, September 20, announced the signing of of former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins until the end of the term.

Joining Wuhan Zall FC means that Obafemi Martins who has been in China for the past four years will have to continue his football career there.

Obafemi Martins is a good journeyman and has played for Inter Milan, Newcastle, Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan, Birmingham and Levante among others.

The 35-year-old was known for his superb goal-scoring form and pace during his time playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Martins actually began his career at FC Ebedei having been scouted by manager Churchill Oliseh while playing on the streets of his hometown.

After a year with the club, Serie C side A.C. Reggiana made a move for the player and that was when his journey in Europe and Asia began.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Super Eagles legend and birthday boy Obafemi Martins created a stunning record in the Premier League after one of his goals was ranked among the seven most powerful shots in Premier League history.

Obafemi Martins' thunderbolt against Tottenham Hotspur on January 14, 2007, was recorded at 84mph which is four miles less than the maximum speed of a Spur-winged goose.

During his time playing for Newcastle United, Obafemi Martins spent three years at the club playing 104 games and scored 35 goals.

Martins is now ranked number six on the list of top seven hardest shots takers in the Premier League history.

Topping the list is former Manchester United winger David Beckham who scored a powerful goal against Chelsea in 1996.

Martins made his debut for Nigeria in 2004 at the age of 19 in the Unity Cup scoring the second goal in the tri-nations Unity Cup tournament in London.

He was a part of the Nigerian team that finished third in the 2006 African Cup of Nations where he scored two goals in the championship.
