As the 2023 presidential election approaches, a famous oil magnate, Arthur Eze, on Sunday, July 12, revealed who can make an Igbo man become president in Nigeria.

Admitting that Igbo people do not love themselves and that they are not united, Eze said that it will take only God himself for a Nigerian president to emerge from the southeast region.

The business mogul who spoke in Ukpo, Anambra state on Sunday advised Igbos to stop craving for a president from their tribe but to seek a leader who will be poised to represent their interest while in the envied position.

He said: “For the Igbo to be president, they must love themselves. Do they love themselves?

“Only God can make an Igbo man president. We shall pray to God to find an Igbo man who has character to help people. I would prefer someone who has a conscience; somebody who will remember me. I don’t care where you come from."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a former old Anambra state governor, Chief Jim Nwobodo, had said the southeast should be given the chance to produce the next president in Nigeria.

He disclosed this at his Amechi country home when a chieftaincy title was bestowed on him by the Amurri Ancient Kingdom.

According to him, since the west and the north have both produced Nigerian president, it was appropriate that the same privilege was accorded the southeast. He said the region should not be denied no matter the political party.
