A video of a man who saved a three-year-old from a burning house has since gone viral.

The man who was reported to be a former high school football player from Michigan saved the boy after his mother tossed him from the third-story balcony of a burning apartment.

The brave man who is identified as Phillip Blanks made a diving catch, securing the boy just before he hit the ground.

From the video, people could be heard screaming from the building and a baby was thrown from the balcony falling into the arms of 28-year-old ex-marine.

According to reports by ABC News, the three-year-old and an eight-year-old were rushed to the hospital. Sadly, the children's mother died in the fire.

From the video which is already making rounds on Twitter, many congratulated Blanks for his selfless act.

Many described him as a hero and termed his catch as a mighty one that he will live to remember.

Others took the moment to mourn the children's mother and wished that they will land in safe and caring hands.
