Kobe Bryant: Fans pay tribute to basketball legend who died at age 41

Fans of basketball legend Kobe Bryant have paid tribute to the former LA Lakers star following reports that he died on Sunday, January 26, after a helicopter crash at the age of 41.

It was gathered that Bryant was travelling in a private aircraft alongside four others when it came down in Calabasas near LA, California.

The helicopter was said to have caught fire after crashing as emergency services battled in vain to save those on board.

All five people on board including Kobe Bryant have now been confirmed dead as a result of the crash, as there is an ongoing investigation to determine the identities of the remaining four people.

But according to a report on The Mirror, Bryant's wife Vanessa is not believed to have been involved in the accident.

The couple have four daughters, Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri.

Tributes have been pouring in following the death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

Kobe Bryant spent his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles based club, helping them to win five titles before finally calling it quits with the game in 2016.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend is the fourth highest scoring player in NBA's history with 33,643 points just one short of Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James.

Kobe Bryant was the first guard in NBA history to play at least 20 seasons at topflight level.

The 41-year-old was the last of his kind and left a legacy never to be matched.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that LA Lakers legend died alongside four others who were traveling with him in his private helicopter when the incident happened.
