Granit Xhaka’s wife, Leonita Lekaj, has taken a vital security measure by reportedly locking her account on the photo-sharing platform Instagram following alleged death threats to her life by impetuous Arsenal fans.

Lekaj's shocking action came amid controversy trailing her husband's flagrant disrespect towards home fans in Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

Although, the Swiss international later apologised in an emotional note where he attributed his action to threat to his wife among other reason, Sun UK claims the footballer's wife locked her account when the threats were getting unbearable.

Prior to the development, Leonita’s Instagram public account had accrued over 200,000 followers. It was later switched to private settings amid alleged death threats.

The 27-year-old Swiss star married Leonita, his long-term girlfriend in July 2017. And Leonita gave birth to daughter Ayana only last month.
