Renowned Islamic scholar weds new bride 68 years after he married his first wife.
Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, prominent Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria has married a new wife.
The 89-year-old renowned Islamic scholar married the daughter of late Senegalese Islamic scholar and Tijjaniya caliph, Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse. Online Hausa publication, Rariya reports that the marriage was conducted by Sheikh Baba Laminu Niasse in Kaolack, Senegal.

Sheikh Bauchi is also the deputy chairman Fatwa Committee of the Supreme Council Of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA)
He married his first bride in 1948 and has 61 children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
