Reactions have continued to trail the recent statement credited to the former minister of state for defence, Musiliu Obanikoro challenging the federal government to try to extradite him from the United States of America.
Obanikoro who served during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan recently had his house raided by officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for corruption related charge and the agency claimed he had forfeited the building.

However, Obanikoro has remained defiant to the Nigerian authorities and has taunted President Muhammadu Buhari to try to extradite him from the United States and see how terrible the mission would fail.
But the former ministers’ challenge to the federal government has angered some Nigerians who have called on him to return the loot he acquired during. One commentator even went as far as prescribing a capital punishment for the minister if he is found guilty of graft

Meanwhile, in a related development, the immediate past governor of Adamawa state, Bala Ngillari, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for his alleged role in the distribution of N450 million for the re-election of former president Goodluck Jonathan.
Premium Times reports that the arrest of Ngillari was sequel to information given to the anti-graft agency by a former Nigerian ambassador to the US, Hassan Adamu, which indicted the former governor.
