Man Arrested Over Spreading False Messages About Boko Haram Attacks
Nigerian security have nabbed a man who is believed to be causing panic by creating text messages about the "impending" attacks.
The suspect identified as Lawrence Ugwu, residing in Abuja, made and spread the "alerting" messages to Nigerians, Premium Times reports with reference to the statement by Defence Headquarters (DHQ).
According to the information made available Tuesday, July 15, Ugwu was tracked by security operatives after dispatching text messages of impending bombings of some hotels in Abuja.

He confessed upon interrogation that he had employed the tactics because of having been rejected employment in one of Abuja hotels. The DHQ statement also said that he had aimed at terrifying the hotel's chairman by his message.
The investigation on whether Ugwu has links with terrorists is still in progress, however the man will be in any case prosecuted over spreading false information.
It would be recalled that the country capital has become target of several deadly attacks launched by suicide bombers: two explosion rocked Nyanya area of the city in April and May, with hundreds of casualties. At least 21 people were killed in a two-week old explosion, which occurred at the busy shopping mall Emab Plaza.
