CLASH: PDP, APC Supporters Attack Each Other With Machetes, Set Property On Fire In Osun
A violent conflict sparked yesterday between two main Nigerian political camps supporters in at Gbodo area of Ife-East Local Government Area Ile-Ife, Osun State.
It was reported about a clash between supporters of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore and those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Rauf Aregbesola, which resulted in fire-raising.

Dozens of motorcycles, tricycles and houses were destroyed; at least six fighters sustained serious injuries, one person was alleged to have been shot in the arm. It was gathered that troublemakers were using machetes and other edged weapons during the attack.

In reaction to the incident, Omisore’s media aide, Mr Diran Odeyemi said,“ The Peoples Democratic Party wishes to bring to the attention of the public, the ongoing attacks on members of the PDP and their property in the ancient town of Ile-Ife, Osun State.”
Who was the initiator of clash is yet to be discovered as the participants blame each other. Earlier Osun State Governor Aregbesola has challenged PDP candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore to a public debate.
