Police Arrest Man With Fresh Human Head In Lagos
A 38-year-old man identified as Mustapha Bakare was on Tuesday, June 10 arrested by the Police Command in Lagos State around White Sands, Orile area of the state for allegedly being in possession of a fresh human head.
Bakare was reportedly sighted with a polythene bag and was stopped for a search. Rather than comply, he reportedly took to his heels, holding firm to the polythene bag, an action that was said to have aroused suspicion.
The policemen reportedly chased and apprehended him. When asked to disclose the contents of the bag, he hesitated.
The Police Public Relation for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the arrest said when the bag was eventually searched, a fresh human head was discovered.
According to Braide, “The Police team that arrested the suspect was led by Inspector Bernard Oyinlade while they were conducting a stop-and-search operation near White Sands area of Orile.
“The team stopped the man who resides at 63B, Church Street, Ijora Badia, while he was walking along the road with a polythene bag. They immediately called for a search but he took to his heels. He was pursued and subsequently arrested and during search, a fresh human head was found inside the bag.
“The suspect is undergoing interrogation and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba for further investigation.”
Over the past weeks, the rate at which Police have been arresting suspects with possession of human heads is very worrisome.
In April 2014, the Ogun state Police arrested two females and three men arrested for being in possession of human heads and some pieces of human flesh.
In March, one suspect, Adelani Ayomide, with 18 human skulls in Ogun state.
In February, four males and two females were arrested in Oyo state with a fresh human head with blood still dripping from it. While a 'fake preacher' was also arrested with human skull in Ibadan.
