CHIBOK: NAIG Urges Govt To Control Protests And Politicisation Issues
The National Association of Itsekiri Graduates (NAIG) stated the importance of accurate management of protests and politicisation process regarding the Chibok girls abduction issue.
According to the Body, if the control is not carried out, the girls might not be found.
Speaking with Vanguard correspondent, NAIG president Alero Tenumah also urged the Federal Government to ensure quick release of the victims explaining that the longer they are held in captivity, the worse their psychological trauma becomes.
Tenumah stressed the importance of adequate work by intelligence and security agencies:
"While the Federal Government should sharpen its intelligence machinery in the fight against terrorism, the security agencies should make sure that our territorial borders, especially the ones with Cameroon, Chad and Niger Republic are properly protected."
More than 200 school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists last month are still missing. Yesterday the Presidential Fact-Finding Committee led by Ibrahim Sabo visited the town affected by the tragedy, which was the first time top civilian officials came to Chibok since the fateful 14th day of April.
President Goodluck Jonathan was reportedly planning to come to Chibok on May 16, however it was later announced that the visit would not take place. The country leader's failure to come to the troubled town was highly criticized.
