Pipeline Explodes At Arepo Area Of Ogun State

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reported that a pipeline exploded at the Arepo village in Ogun State on May 24.

According to the reaching reports, the explosion was the high point of a shoot out between pipelines' vandals and security personnel deployed to protect pipelines at the Arepo area.

According to the South West Zonal Public Relations Officer of the agency, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, the pipeline explosion started on Saturday morning. "There was exchange of fire between the pipeline security team and vandals yesterday but it got to its peak by midnight."

Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye added that "some police are missing and the ruggedness of the terrain is hampering access to the place."
