Chibok Girls: Traditionalists Blame Islam, Christianity

With the current spate of terrorism in the country, the IFA priests across the nation yesterday blamed both Christians and Muslims for the killings by the Boko Haram sect.

This was made known in Ibadan, where the traditionalists, who came from Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Edo converged to pray for the release of over 200 Chibok school girls kidnapped by the Boko Haram insurgents on April 14.

The prayers were said by Chief Yemi Elebuibon, Chief Udenta Chikeebere, Chief Ifayinka Odutolu, Chief Ifasayo Alabi and Osunkemi Bogunpe, among others.

The President of the International Council for Ifa Religion, Professor Idowu Odeyemi while speaking on the country said: “Nigeria is neither a Christian nor a Muslim nation.

Nigeria is a nation of three major religions; African Religion, Islam and Christianity. Now that the two other religions have boxed Nigeria into a corner of confusion, violence, chaos and anomie, practitioners of African religion and spirituality have now stepped in to halt the rot.”
