Court Remands Two For Being In Possession Of 18 Human Skulls
A 76-year-old man, Sunday Toyinbo, and one Adelani Ogundimu, 40, were on Monday, remanded in prison custody by an Ota Magistrates' Court seating in Ogun State, for allegedly being in possession of 18 human skulls and conspiracy.
Sgt. ItaIta Ebobimino, the police prosecutor told the court that the accused and others now at large committed the offence on March 11,2014 at Yewa and Ado-Odo area of the state.
According to him, Toyinbo, and Ogundimu, engaged in unlawful exhumation and possession of the human skulls for ritual purposes.
He told the court that offences were contrary to sections 329 (a) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused persons plea was not taken.
The Magistrate, Titi Bello, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody.
Bello adjourned the case to May 26 for mention.
