Woman Ran Over Three Boys, One Dead, Sues His Family For Emotional Distress

An unprecedented case has just been opened in Toronto, Canada, with a woman, who ran over a teenage boy is suing his grieving family and two other boys for emotional distress that the incident caused her to have.

The accident happened on a drizzling night, when three teenage boys went out for hotdogs, at 01:30 am. That is when the woman ran over all of them, with Brandon Majewski dying after the crash. The second boy got injured as well, but was ok after some time at the hospital, while the third boy just got a couple of scratches.

The investigation claimed that there were no lights on any of the bikes, they were all dressed in black and there was pretty no chance the woman would have seen them.

According to police reports, Simon was driving at 90 km/h speed, though the speed limit in that zone is 80 km/h, however, was not charged with that. Moreover, there was no alcohol test taken at the place, as according to the police, there were no grounds for one.

According to the woman, the kids had not applied their breaks properly: “They were incompetent bicyclists."

The lawyer of the defence, Brian Cameron, said that he had not heard of a case like this in all his life: "In all of my years as a lawyer, I have never seen anyone ever sue a child that they killed.”

The mother of the boy, Venetta, claims that Simon is just trying to win money on this case. Venetta is already devastated with losing her child, and she said: “Tell her to look inside my head and she will see pain, she will see panic, she will see nightmares."

Brandon Majewski

The parents, Mr. Majewski, Ms. Mlynczyk, are now suing Mr. and Mrs. Simon for $900,000, and the suit alleges that Sharlene Simon was in no condition to drive and had been texting while driving that being the cause of the accident. They believe that the investigation was not held in a proper way. The mother, Ms.Mlynczyk, claimed that Mrs. Simon was friends with one of the investigators on that case, and that might have biased the result.

The father of Brandon, Mr. Majewski, also said that six months after the death of their son in that crash, their other son, Devon, who was very devastated by it all, died in his sleep due to a mixture of alcohol and pharmaceuticals.
