Abuja Bomb Blast: Boko Haram Will Pay, President Jonathan Declares

President Goodluck Jonathan declared on Saturday that the perpetrators of the recent bomb blast at Nyanya Bus Park in Abuja which killed many will not go unpunished but pay for their wicked act.

Speaking at the 4th Presidential National Prayer Breakfast session which held inside the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Jonathan said that his administration would continue to support the families affected by the blast just as security agencies were working hard curb incessant attacks in the country.

He said his prayers were with all the victims of the sect, Boko Haram, their families and loved ones across the country.

He said his government would continue to offer all assistance needed to support the families as security agencies were working hard to curtail the situation.

President Jonathan called on Nigerians to increase their vigilance and alertness as well as cooperation and understanding to with security agents, adding that everyone needs to rely on God to pursue peace and overcome the enemies of the nation.

"Nigeria is our home and cannot be abandoned to anyone else,” he said.

President Jonathan added that Nigerians’ love for the country gives him hope and encouragement to do more for the good of the country.

Special prayers were also said for the release of the female students abducted by Boko Haram in Chibok, Borno State.

The President of Benin Republic, Boni Yayi prayed specially for the girl’s release stressing that Boko Haram and their collaborators are not needed anywhere in the African continent.
