2015 Elections Will Determine Nigeria’s Fate – Tinubu
Former Lagos state governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has said that the forthcoming 2015 general elections would determine Nigeria’s political future.
Speaking yesterday at a public presentation of a book entitled “Balarabe Musa” at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, Tinubu said the the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his opposition APC are different.
Distinguishing both parties, he described PDP as a party which stands for the perfection of greed and unbridled ambition and also a conservative elitist party which has held sway for about 15 years with little to show for it, while he described the APC as a merger of reformers whose aim is to change the fortunes of the country for good.
According to him, the APC seeks to do for Nigeria what the ruling party cannot do.
He however described Balarabe Musa, the man of the occasion as a man of the people who would have a role to play in the country, whichever way it turns.
He said, “It is not necessary that he (Balarabe) carry the banner of party or any affiliation except that with the Nigerian people. Let him speak to the people and speak to them the truth as he sees it. We need this now more than ever. If he does so, it will help guide the people and Nigeria will become a better place."
He went on to describe Balarabe Musa as the warrior of principle and democracy who is made of the rarest and noblest qualities.
