You're A Saboteur - Uwazuruike Blasts Okorocha

Ralph Uwazuruike, leader of the Movement for Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has described Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state as a saboteur.

He called on the Igbo people to always disregard counter views or opinions expressed by Okorocha with regards to the actualization of Biafra, Daily Sun reports.

Uwazuruike noted that though the governor had constitutional right to express his opinion or views on any matter, including that of MASSOB, he has no capacity to decide or determine what happens in Igbo land.

Uwazuruike was apparently reacting to a statement by Okorocha where he dissociated southeast governors and leaders from the pro-Biafra groups, saying the Igbos will not use the agitation for Biafra to pursue the Igbo agenda.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Onitsha, Anambra state and signed by the national deputy director for information, Mazi Chris Mocha, the MASSOB leader said: “Okorocha is aiding and abetting the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government in the continued marginalisation of the Igbo.

“He is also financing the central mosque near the Government House, Owerri, Imo state to the detriment of our people.”

Uwazuruike stressed that his mission in life was to actualise Biafra as a sovereign, independent nation without violence.

Speaking at a MASSOB meeting held in Ojukwu Memorial Library, new Owerri, Imo state, he said if he failed to get Biafra, he would have failed to do what was expected of him.

I came into the world to do one thing and that is to achieve Biafra and liberate my oppressed people from bondage in Nigeria,” he said.

According to him, members of MASSOB have never retaliated despite the fact that security agencies have been killing them from 1999 till date.

Some members of MASSOB said they would not jettison the struggle for the actualization of the state of Biafra. Uchenna Madu, a factional national director of information, in a signed statement noted the determined ones were still committed to the cause, stating that the Biafran struggle remains a genuine movement.

Meanwhile MASSOB in Anambra state have given the military in the state a 48-hour ultimatum to release five members allegedly arrested on Tuesday in various parts of the state.

Tony Nwodo, the regional administrator for Nnewi South local government area said: “We will shut down Anambra State if the five arrested members are not released within 48 hours.”
