Boko Haram Attack LG Chairman Ahmadu's Convoy
Five people have been reportedly declared missing after suspected members of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, attacked the convoy of Gwoza Local Government chairman, Hamman Ahmadu.
During the attack two vehicles were also destroyed.
According to the information gathered, the chairman and his convoy ran into an ambush by the sect members at a blown-up bridge on the Bama-Gwoza road at about 4.35pm on Monday.
According to Mallam Baba, a driver attached to Borno State Government House, Maiduguri, the convoy was surrounded by several gunmen on reaching the bridge.
The witness narrated that the unknown attackers were shooting sporadically from all directions.
Baba said he had to crawl for about 300 metres to escape from the insurgents.
As for the casualties, the driver confirmed that 20 hours after the attack 3 policemen were missing so as 2 other drivers of the convoy.
