Three students of the Edo state School of Nursing have been arraigned before an Oredo Magistrates’ Court in Benin for assaulting a six-year-old girl.
The trio- Egbai Kenneth, 26, Paul Aghama, 22, and Osemwegie Jeffery, were charged on a two-count charge of indecent assault.
A police spokesperson from the Family Unit of the state police command confirmed the case.

Corporal Evborhuan Kingsley, representative of the unit, told the court that the accused committed the offence “between the months of March and May 2015,” on the premises of the school hostel on Sapele Road.
Kingsley said: “The suspects used their nails to penetrate the victim’s vagina.
“They committed an offence punishable under Section 360 of the Criminal Code, Cap 48, Vol. II, Law of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976, now applicable in Edo State.”
However, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to all charges leveled against them.
The students were granted bail in the sum of N300, 000 each by the presiding magistrate, Mrs. M. Adebanjo.
They were also to present one surety each in like sum.
The magistrate stressed that the sureties must be Edo state civil servants of grade level nine and above.
Meanwhile, five men have been arraigned before a Senior Magistrates Court sitting in Katsina state, on one-count charge of rape.
The accused where charged following accusations that they defiled a 13-year-old girl and got her impregnated.
