Edeme-Okonye Emmanuel, the principal of Ogborigbala Mixed Secondary School, said the school lacked many facilities.

''The school needs a lot of facilities starting from water. We drink well water. The school has no examination hall, no chairs. We need more teachers. We have seven teachers handling the school including me,'' he said.

The students are idle most of the time as there is no-one to teach them, or they are needed to help with chores.

The leadership of the community called on the Delta state government to address the situation.

Ophorigbala village is located in Ugheli South local government area of Delta state. The village shares a boundary with Burutu local government area on a channel of the River Niger, 20 miles (32 km) upstream from the Bight of Benin.
