The National Control Centre of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria in Osogbo was engulfed in flames in the early Friday morning.

The NCC located in Osogbo is one of the transmission centres for the distribution of generated electricity in the country.
The fire broke out around 3am and affected a transformer there.
Firemen tried to extinguish the fire till around 9am when it was finallly put out.
The incident has already thrown many areas within the state into darkness that has further aggravated the already complicated power supply in the country.
Vehicular and human traffic at the centre is controlled by the members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, soldiers and staff of the Federal Road Safety Commission.
The Deputy Governor of Osun State, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, had already visited the place.
