Idris Wada Wins PDP Primary In Kogi

Kogi Governor Idris Wada has won the Peoples Democratic Party primary in the state ahead of the election to be held on November 21.

According to Premium Times, Wada polled 709 votes beating his major challenger Isa Echoho, who received 139 votes.

The exercise conducted in Lokoja on Monday, September 14, was supervised by Enugu state governor Ifeanyi Uguawanyi, who announced the results in the evening of the same day.

Daily Post adds that Wada lost only Yagba West local government area to Echocho. The latter was said to have congratulated the winner after the results announcement.

In November Wada is set to compete with the All Progressives Congress candidate, Abubakar Audu, for the governorship seat.

It should be recalled that the APC primary was conducted in the end of August. Audu polled 1,109 votes defeating Yahaya Bello who received 703 votes.
