The dismissal of the nation’s service chiefs gained validity after Femi Adesina, the special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, confirmed the reports while speaking to journalists in Abuja.
Adesina, who did not give more details, added that the Presidency was preparing a statement that would be made available to newsmen.
Their replacements have not been named as at the time of writing this report.
It has however, been alleged that the service chiefs were shown the exit door following the incessant onslaught by the deadly Boko Haram sect across Northern Nigeria.
Reports has shown that since the inauguration of President Buhari on May 29, 2015, over 500 people including soldiers have been killed by Boko Haram forces either through bombings, beheading or shootings.
Reacting to the development, Nigerians from all quarters have commended the move by the President.
According to them, dismissing the service chiefs will send a clear message to incoming chiefs.
