While about four weeks have passed since inauguration President Muhammadu Buhari is not in a hurry to appoint his cabinet.

According to him the National Assembly should resume work to approve his nominnees.

The president once said: “The main reason is that I had a Transition Committee which I agreed with former President Goodluck Jonathan that the ministers of the outgone government should handover their notes and documents to this Transition Committee so that we could be prepared.

The Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, was forced to announce a long adjournment of plenary till July 21, 2015.

Dogara expressed his displeasure over the current fracas, saying that Nigerians are in high expectation for members to hit the ground running on legislative matters, and that as long as members remain divided, effective legislation will be impossible.

So the appointing of the ministers can also be postponed for four weeks.
