PDP Chieftains Want Fani Kayode Disciplined

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is pushing for disciplinary measures against Femi Fani-Kayode for scatting remarks he made about the party’s leadership.

Fani-kayode, who served as Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation yesterday, May 19, blamed the leadership of the party for PDP’s woes at the just concluded general election.

Mr Kayode, according to Punch, described some members of the party`s NWC as “enemy within us”, alleging that two members of the committee were working for the opposition in the course of the election.

He said that the new direction the party needed was been hindered by the Adamu Mu’azu-led NWC which he described as ‘a cog in the wheel of progress.

Reacting to Mr Kayode’s allegations, the PDP leadership is calling for severe punishment to be handed on the former minister for questioning the integrity of its leadership.

According to Premium Times, the party in a statement on May 20, Wednesday, ordered the PDP in Osun State to investigate if Fani Kayode was a registered member of the party. It also mandated that he be punished for his flagrant utterances against the party's leadership.

Meanwhile, the embattled national chairman of the PDP, Adamu Mu’azu, finally gave in to pressure by resigning as the party’s chairman.

In a letter he wrote to the Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Muazu, noted that due to the abysmal performance of the party in the 2015 general elections, it became imperative for him to leave and for peace to reign in the PDP.
