Nigeria's Super Eagles failed beat Sudan in the away game on October 11, 2014, Saturday. Stephen Keshi's team is now rooted to the bottom  of Group A with 1 point. However, there are still some theoretical chances for  them to go to Morocco next year and defend their title at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

After three rounds of qualifying, Bafana Bafana are on top with 7 points, ahead of Congo and Sudan with 6 and 3 points respectively.

The match 'in return', Nigeria vs Sudan, is scheduled for October 15, 2014, Wednesday (17:00).

Nigeria ran away 4-0 winners on their last visit to Sudan (July 2001) during a 2002 World Cup qualifier.
