Nigeria, Important Market To British Airways – CEO
British Airways (BA) has described Nigeria as a market that is very important and strategic to its operations.
Its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Keith Williams, was quoted to have said this in a statement made available to aviation correspondents on Tuesday in Lagos by Mr Chidiebere Onuorha of Quadrant Communications Ltd.
The Quadrant Communications handles the airline’s public relations issues. The statement said that Williams made the remark during an event the airline organised to appreciate its customers.
“Nigeria was the first market outside of the UK where we launched our new advertising campaign: To Fly, To Serve.
“Through our programme of investments and product and service enhancements, we are making that brand promise a reality, ” Williams was quoted as saying.
The statement also quoted the BA chief as saying that the airline had expanded its network to include new African routes, acquired new aircraft and introduced innovative technology to better serve its customers.
It quoted him as saying that the airline now serves 19 routes in 16 African countries and with its franchise, code share and one world partners, offers a global network of over 600 destinations.
