Represented by Commodore Jamila Abubakar Sadiq, the naval chief said:

“I’m here, I’m standing here and I’m saying it. Since we’re going to collaborate with ECOWAS and other countries that are donating such arms to these countries, I think we should insist that they either enact laws to govern the handling of these arms and ammunition or build armouries for these countries or else, we would not see peace.
“The CCTV we’re advocating, in my opinion, even though they say even the Berlin wall has been knocked down, I think we should build walls between us and these neighbouring countries or we should have a serious surveillance or else, we would not see peace in this country, I’m telling you this. Where are the arrested bandits, terrorists: No prosecution, imprisonment, former Senator laments

Meanwhile, Senator Seidu Muhammed Dansadau who represented Zamfara at the National Assembly between 1999 and 2007 has lamented that Nigerian government have always failed to prosecute or imprison arrested bandits or terrorists.

He said;

"I think the main factor responsible for these protracted crimes is the fact no sanction has been administered on the perpetrators arrested. There is this Ali Kachalla who is one of the major bandits. He was once arrested and the police even paraded him. How manage he wasn’t arraigned before court of law so that appropriate punishment is given? We have a large number of bandits like that."
