BREAKING: Tragedy Strikes as Building in Rivers Collapses, Casualties Recorded

- Added to this, about two other persons were injured as a result of the collapse, which according to eyewitnesses, was caused by floods
The collapse of a building in Woji, on the outskirts of Port Harcourt, Rivers left at least one person dead and two others terribly injured on Thursday, September 23.
The victims were working on the structure when the tragedy occurred on Thursday, Punch reports.
Claims from eyewitnesses indicate that recent floods in the Rivers capital might have triggered the incident.

However, a survivor admitted that the building had “integrity issues” such that at the time it collapsed, the workers were and that workers were carrying out some reinforcement work on it.

Meanwhile, a two-storey building located around the Oke Arin area of Idumota, Lagos Island went down on Tuesday, June 15, as confirmed by the management of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
LASEMA revealed that the building which was undergoing supervised demolition collapsed in the night of Tuesday following a wave of turbulent wind.
The agency's director-general, Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, noted that there were no fatalities involved in the incident.
OkeOsanyintolu added that the structure is already under the oversight of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA).
