Renowned US actress and cooking TV show host Amy Schumer has disclosed to have removed her uterus after struggling with endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to that found in the uterus starts to grow in other body parts, leading to uncomfortable pain.

Sharing a video on Instagram from her hospital bed on Sunday, September 19, the Trainwreck star disclosed she had her uterus and appendix removed due to endometriosis.

In the said clip, shot by hubby Chris Fisher hours after her surgery, the actress said her doctor found 30 spots of endometriosis, including the appendix, which had been attacked.

She said there was a lot of blood in her uterus, and she was feeling very sore and had gas pains, but her energy was up as she could feel a lot better.

Amy also shared a photo of her in her hospital robe. She captioned it with advice to women, noting if they had painful periods, they should consider getting checked for endometriosis.

The thespain has previously shared her struggle with endometriosis and how it impacted her fertility.

She has also gone through IVF, which was not as successful, and in August 2020, she decided she could never be pregnant again, according to Fox News.

In other news, actress Gabrielle Union recently shared her surrogacy journey and how it felt not to be the biological mother of her daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade.

In a candid interview with Trevor Noah, the thespian said she felt the importance of telling her story in her new book You Got Anything Stronger, which made her feel liberated.

On her surrogacy journey, Union said she felt like a loser and failure for not carrying her baby and that her body had failed her. She felt her hubby Dwayne Wade deserved "something other than" her.

Not having the nine months to bond with her baby in her belly, Union felt that she and her husband had to work hard to create a bond with Kaavia.
