Lukaku, who rejoined the Blues this summer from Inter Milan has been in fine shape for the west Londoners, scoring three goals in three league appearances thus far.

He was once again the man of the moment against Aston Villa as he netted a brace to inspire his side to a comfortable win.

However, SunSport reports there was a slight downside to his brace as he tore his socks during celebration.

Photos of the Belgian with large tears in his mud-stained long socks emerged later on social media, with the 28-year-old vowing to retire the signature celebration.

"No more sliding on my knees after yesterday’s celebration," the former Man United striker posted.

Incidentally, he will not be the first Chelsea player to retire the celebration, with Blues icon Eden Hazard revealing scabs he was left with after performing the move himself in 2018.

"Look, look, the celebration - the sliding knee. I need to stop this," the Belgian said at the time.
"My knees - they are on fire! No more of this celebration," he added.

Lukaku speaks on Ronaldo comparisons

It was earlier reported that Romelu Lukaku has hit out at reporters who had compared him with five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite similarities in their playing style, Lukaku does not want to be compared with the legendary Portuguese striker who has returned to the Premier League with Manchester United.

Aside from scoring breathtaking goals, both stars have several things in common including the leagues they have played in.

They were fierce rivals in the Italian Serie A and now following their respective return to England, their paths will cross again.

Thomas Tuchel criticizes Saul Niguez

Legit.ng reported how Thomas Tuchel has criticized Saul Niguez's debut for Chelsea during his side's 3-0 comfortable win over Aston Villa on Saturday, September 11.

Niguez completed a stunning switch to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day, linking up with the Blues from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan deal.
