Bandits Kidnap College of Education Deputy Provost’s 3 Sons in Katsina

Dutsinma, Katsina - The three sons of the deputy provost of Isa Kaita College of Education in Dutsinma, Katsina state, Isma’il Ado Funtua, have been kidnapped by bandits.

Daily Trust reports that a source close to Ado Funtua, who confirmed the incident, said the bandits invaded the campus and broke into the deputy provost’s residence around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, September 6.

Legit.ng gathered that the source, however, said the kidnappers on their way released the gateman and went away with the man’s children.

The source reportedly said:

“Around 11:30 pm on Monday, four heavily armed terrorists entered the school premises and broke into the residence of the Deputy Provost of the college, Dr Isma’il Ado Funtua, where they abducted three of his children."

ThisDay also reports that the bandits went into the parlour and met the young men who were reading.

Suspected gunmen abduct former senator Effiong in Akwa Ibom

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that a former senator representing Eket Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom state, Nelson Effiong, was abducted by some gunmen in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state.

It was reported that the victim was kidnapped by three-armed hoodlums at his lounge, a popular sit-out along Oron road in Uyo.

The armed men stormed the sit-out with a Toyota Camry car and shot sporadically forcing customers and other guests to scamper for safety before whisking the victim away.

Kidnappers strike again

In a related report, some armed criminals on Monday, September 6, abducted Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, a retired director off the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and his 15-year-old daughter, Laila.

Abdulkadir and Laila were kidnapped on the night of Monday when the assailants raided Bakori Housing Units in the state.

The AK 47-wielding kidnappers also abducted three other residents of the Danja local government area of the state who were later rescued by local guards after a gun duel with the criminals.
