BREAKING: APC Expels Yola South LGA Caretaker Chairman, Sulaiman Adamu

FCT, Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has ratified the expulsion of the party's caretaker chairman in Yola south local government area of Adamawa state, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu.

A statement sent to Legit.ng by the national secretary of the CECPC, Senator John James Akpanudoudehe stated that Adamu's expulsion from the party takes immediate effect.

He said the decision is part of the resolutions reached at the 16th meeting of the CECPC held at the Party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, September 1.

He added that the CECPC recieved and deliberated on the report of Adamu's infractions and recommendations of the 7-member disciplinary committee setup by the Adamawa state working committee of the party.

Legit.ng gathered that Adamu had made unwholesome utterences concerning President Muhammadu Buhari in a viral video.

APC forum to train female members on party's ideals

Meanwhile, to ensure female party members are in tune with the APC ideals, the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF) has announced that it is organising a 3-Day capacity building workshop for all its national executives and state representatives.

According to a statement on the APC Facebook page, the workshop will offer the PYWF executives the opportunity to be identified with the processes, responsibilities and duties expected, as well as to orientate the executives on the mandate and objectives of the forum and the party.

In a related development, a front-runner for the national chairmanship of the APC, Senator Tanko Umaru Al-Makura has revealed the motivation behind his desire to vie for the topmost seat of the ruling party.

A statement sent to Legit.ng by Segun Tomori director, media & publicity of Al-Makura Support Organization (ASO), noted that Al-Makura revealed this when he received members of ASO, the campaign organization working for his chairmanship aspiration.

The ASO led by its Director-General, Comrade Dominic Alancha told the former governor of Nasarawa state that members decided to pay a familiarization visit to intimate him on the progress made so far.

Northeast stakeholders endorse Al-Makura

Similarly, a group within the APC recently endorsed Al-Makura as the next party chairman.

The group, North-East APC Progressive Social Media Forum insisted that Al-Makura has the credentials to lead the party to victory in 2023.

The group further noted that Al-Makura was not an alternative but the only option to help the party achieve its goals.
