Breaking: Sunday Igboho arrested in Cotonou on his way to Europe
- Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo has reportedly been arrested by some security operatives in Benin Republic

The Punch Newspaper is reporting that Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho, has been arrested.
The newspaper reports that he was captured at an airport in Cotonou, Benin Republic, one of Nigeria’s neighbouring countries in the West African sub-region, on Monday night.
His arrest by the security forces in Benin Republic came about three weeks after the Department of State Services declared him wanted.

Also, Sahara Reporters reports that Igboho had perfected plans to secretly escape from Nigeria through Cotonou and was heading to Germany.
Miyetti Allah claims southwest governors are hiding Sunday Igboho
Recall that Southwest governors have been accused of allegedly hiding the wanted self-acclaimed activist Sunday Igboho, as the Department of State Services (DSS) continues searching for him.
Miyetti Allah Kautal H*re, one of the umbrella bodies of the herdsmen in Nigeria made the allegation during an exclusive interview with a news outlet. Saleh Alhassan, the spokesman for the group alleged that the six governors in the southwest region are hiding Igboho.
According to Alhassan, Igboho is being used, as his actions are political. He maintained that though the governors were hiding him, the security agents will get him. He went on to ask the governors, Igboho's godfathers in the southwest to bring him out.
Afenifere reacts to attack on Igboho's home
In a related development, Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-political group, condemned the attack on the house of Igboho.
In a statement by its spokesperson, Jare Ajayi, the group said the attack on Igboho’s house is a sad indicator that Nigeria is "fast returning to the era of the late Sani Abacha" when government critics "would be fatally attacked.
The group called on the federal government to “stop any plan to harm Igboho or any other person not known to contravene the law of the land”.
