BREAKING: Bethel Baptist School Student, 2 Others Rescued, Police Reveal Details

Chikun LGA, Kaduna state - Security operatives have reportedly rescued one of the abducted students of Bethel Baptist Secondary school in the Chikun local government area of Kaduna state.

According to Channels TV, the student named Abraham Aniya was rescued along with two other kidnap victims who were abducted some days ago along the Kaduna-Kachia road.

Legit.ng gathers that the spokesman of the Kaduna state police command, Mohammed Jalige, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, July 13.

He said police operatives alongside men of the Civilian JTF on routine patrol rescued the three kidnap victims while they were roaming inside the forest at Tshohon Gaya village extremely exhausted and weak.

Victims taken to clinic

Jalinge said the victims were safely evacuated and rushed to Police Clinic in Kaduna where they are currently being "resuscitated" after which they will be handed over to their families, Leadership also reported.

The three victims were identified as Zaharaddeen Ibrahim, Nura Nuhu and Abraham Aniya.

Recall that some students of the Kaduna Baptist school were kidnapped by the armed hoodlums who attacked the school in the early hours of Monday, July 5.

The bandits shot sporadically into the air before kidnapping and taking the students to an undisclosed location.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Baptist Convention has bitterly decried the abduction of students of Bethel Baptist School.

According to the church, Nigeria has enjoyed 166 years of quality education from its schools in some parts of the country with a lot of laudable track records.

The president of the convention, Rev Israel Akanji, disclosed that the church started the task of providing state-of-the-art education for Nigeria in 1855, adding that politicians like Olusegun Obasanjo and MKO Abiola were products of its efforts.

The video drew reactions from many Nigerians as they blamed the federal government for the incessant school kidnaps.
