‘You Failed in Nigeria’, Malami Abuses Canadian Minister Over Nnamdi Kanu

Kelechi Amadi has been blasted over his comment on the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The Canadian minister was criticised by the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, The Cable reports.
Madu had recently lambasted Malami over the arrest, saying if indeed Kanu was illegally arrested and repatriated to Nigerian, then Malami was a disgrace to the rule of law.

In his reaction, the minister described Madu as ignorant, Daily Trust added.
This was contained in a statement by Dr Umar Gwandu, special assistant on Media and Publicity to the minister.
He said:
“Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) has described the ideas attributed to one Kelechi Madu as outrageously ignoramus opinions that are eccentric and weird to the legal profession.
“It is a pity that as a Solicitor General of a province, Madu failed to keep himself acquainted with the provisions of general laws of the country where he stays as well as international laws,” said Malami.
“As the saying goes ‘an empty vessel makes the loudest noise’. We advise the so-called ‘learned man’ to shelve his arrogance and learn to study the law books before opening his mouth to disgrace himself before the right-thinking members of the society thereby attracting to himself criticism that may propel doubt about his suitability for the job he claims to be doing now, after moving out of his country of origin in which he fails to excel."
Kanu's ordeal gets British parliament's attention
In another report, the United Kingdom Parliament is set to commence a debate on the repatriation of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Although the Nigerian government has been silent on how Kanu was apprehended, IPOB has insisted that their leader was arrested in Kenya by the East African country's special forces.
In a related development, elder statesman and Second Republic aviation minister, Mbazulike Amechi has advised the federal government to give Kanu a fair hearing.
Amechi said Kanu should be assumed innocent until he is found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
He also said the federal authorities should be cautious about the way they will handle Kanu, and the way they will handle his case.
Southern governors send serious message to DSS, police, others
Meanwhile, the Southern Governors’ Forum (SGF) has declared that the security agencies must take permission from them from carrying out an operation in their respective states.
The governors made this known on Monday, July 5, in Lagos, insisting that any law enforcement agency carrying out an operation in any of the states in the south must take permission from the state governor, who is the chief security officer of the state.
