BREAKING: Buhari Convenes Emergency Security Meeting in Aso Rock
- President Buhari has again met with his service chiefs and other principal government officials as he seeks to end the nation's security challenges

Aso Rock, Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, June 8, presided over an emergency national security meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The presidency disclosed this in a brief statement posted on the official Facebook page of President Buhari.

Although the detailed agenda of the meeting is not available, it is expected to review the current state of insecurity in different parts of the country.
According to the statement, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, among others, were present at the meeting.
Security and intelligence chiefs as well as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and other stakeholders were said to be in attendance.
Buhari meets COAS Yahaya
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd), the minister of defence, officially presented the new Chief Of Army Staff, Major General Farouq Yahaya, to President Buhari on Monday, June 7.
After the meeting, the defence minister assured Nigerians that there would be a lot of changes in the security operations very soon.
Magashi also said the president shared his military experiences with the new COAS.

Former presidential candidate asks FG to consider dialogue
Meanwhile, Kingsley Moghalu, a former presidential candidate, has called on the federal government to convene a round table talk with secessionists and all political agitators in Nigeria.
Moghalu who spoke on Channels TV's Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, June 2, noted that it is wrong and rather dangerous for the government to describe such persons as terrorists.
The southeast politician suggested that the best way forward at the moment is a dialogue between the leadership and the agitating regions.
